The Blue Jays epic season came to a close tonight in KC. I has a sad.

It was quite a series. I was sure this years ALCS would be a mirror image of the 1985 ALCS, but it was not to be.

What’s most frustrating is how close we came. Top of the 9th, 4-3 KC, runners at 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. Pinch hitter with a reputation for being good in the clutch strikes out. Lead off man strikes out (and, in an uncharacteristic display of rage, beats the shit out of Gatorade jug with his bat).

Two out, the likely AL MVP at bat. Grounds out, game over.

Go Mets.

Well, at least you weren’t swept. Screw the Mets. Next year!

Sorry. My wife is super happy, so I'm going with that.

Hey, at least every single team in the playoffs this year is an underdog. It’s not difficult to cheer for the Mets or the Royals because they’re usually so consistently terrible. Better than losing to the Yankees.
